I had surgery. I completely forgot about it until just now. I'm down 135 lbs and I'm enjoying my life. I'm wearing a dress I haven't had on in 6-8 years. Life is such a wonderful blessing. I'm enjoying going places and doing things. I'm enjoying living my life. I wish that I could hug everyone who is considering surgery and scared and lead them by their hands to the journey I've discovered. Everyone was so afraid I'd die in surgery. I even wrote some letters to my husband and son. Only my son received his email. He said it really scared him. I love that I've made new friends through both here and my support group. I cherish everyone who has changed my life and who has come into my life. Our journey and our lives have only just begun. I know there are lurkers out there and people who haven't made the decision.... trust me if you are still thinking about it....think about this 6 months ago I couldn't walk to my mailbox. I walk all over the place now. I walked all over the town garage sale and then headed to wal mart afterwards. 6 months ago I couldn't paint my toenails. Today my toenails are fuscia. 6 months ago I couldn't fit in a booth at a restaurant...today I fit. 6 months ago I was having trouble cleaning myself properly in the bathroom....thats over with...I'm as clean as a whistle 6 months ago I couldn't fit behind the steering wheel of my truck without lifting the wheel. Today I can drive with it in the normal position. 6 months ago I couldn't wear flip flops because I'd get out of breath. They are my shoe of choice today. 6 months ago I couldn't even fit in the biggest pair of zipped pants in Catherines....today I'm in a 28. so if you are on the fence....and lurking...and I know there are because I do get emails....do this for yourself and take your life back...you'll be amazed

Diane, I liked your posting it was a inspiration to me. I have decided to have the rny lap. And i'm gonna have Dr. Ordoyne do the surgery. May 15 we drove down to Covington from near Ruston (north La). I liked Dr. Ordoyne and like you said he is a well rounded educated man as far is surgery and cancer is concerned. I haven't made a appt. yet. I still have to get referral from my doctor. Also i'm trying to get a referral to a Cardiologist, my cardiologist is at LSU S'Port they can't see me till Sept. and they won't clear me for surgery until they see me. I have had two medicated stints in may LAD artery in Feb of this year still have a 30% and 70% artery blocked. I need this surgery so bad my weight is 284 and 45 yrs old. I hope this surgery will improve my health and live longer. Also have hypothyroidisum, HTN, GERD. I'm ready for more energy depression's really hit me hard the past 8 mos. Dad died in Dec. next day is when i started with chest pain. Dr. diagnosed it as Castacondritis a month later i finally went to the er at Lsu in s'port admitted for 10 days. I've already had the stress test at that time so i hope i won't have to do another one, also had a treadmill stress test, heart cath. I have copies of all that the disch. summary, h & p, consults. Thanks again for the inspiration oh yeah i have worked in medical records 16 yrs lol take care Wayahart (zadie) [email protected]

Congratulations on your six months of triumph! That is great. Isn't it amazing how we find such great joy in the small things we are able to do. Other people do them without thinking, but to us it is a major accomplishment. I love it! I agree, quit lurking, quit stalling and go ahead and DO IT!! You will find yourself in this amazing journey receiving pleasure from the small things! Congrats to you other girls as well. Life is so much fun, now, isn't it? Even if you haven't had the surgery yet, just contemplating the WOW moments is exciting. PAtricia
