Car Accident
Hello everyone.....
I'm writing tonite to let you know that my son and I were involved and a bad accident today and we need your prayers please. I went to Lake Charles yesterday for my GodDaughters graduation and was on our way back today and was in Scott which is right before Lafayette. I was in the left lane and a big chevy double cab pickup came over on me. I hit my brakes and the truck was pushing me into the ditch. I hit the brakes harder and they locked up and my car started spinning out of control on the interstate and I hit another vehicle. I didn't even know what I had hit, kind of blacked out a second and ended up perfectly parked on the side of the interstate. We are ok, with God's blessing we are alive. We have no broken bones or cuts. But we are both so VERY sore. Kasey will be ten next Sunday, this is not the best birthday gift for him. He is really suffering with his neck. My entire body hurts, but mainly my right side. We went to the ER and the doctor said she see's this all of the time but hardly ever sees it when two people come out as good as me and he did. We certainly had angels around us. My car is totalled though. Im very upset about that. I just got it six weeks ago. It was a Lexus and it was my most favorite car I've ever had. The car was towed to my house. The bill was over $300 and they needed cash....needless to say I didn't have it, but thank goodness my parents came to the rescue so my car could be released. I have full coverage and also the truck is at fault. But this is something that is going to set me back. I need your prayers for strength!!!! My body is hurting soooo bad right now....I'm going bathe and going to bed!
You never know what tomorrow will bring!!!! I'm still a bit in shock over it all.
Christie, sorry about the accident. It sounds like it could have had fatal results. God is faithful! I will be praying for you and Kasey for a full and speedy recovery. Those muscles will need some TLC for a few days. I imagine when you get up this morning you are going to feel it! Take care.
Patricia
I'm so sorry to hear about the accident. I can only imagine how shocking the whole thing must have been. You were definitely being protected from above! I'm also sorry to hear about your car. It's disappointing to lose something you worked so hard to get and loved so much. Please make sure you get plenty of rest and take good care of your self. You're in my thoughts and prayers.

I am sorry to hear about your accident. I can really relate, though. Last year, about 2 1/2 mos. after my surgery, my car was totalled when a car coming the opposite direction, didn't make the curve and kept coming straight at me. He hit me right behind the driver's door and my car spun out of control. It finally came to a stop resting on the passenger side. I don't remember the car rolling, just spinning and spinning and what a horrible feeling that was. I hope I never go through that again. I don't know if your airbags went off, but mine did (don't remember that either) and I ended up with the most spectacular black and blue marks. My entire chest from my breasts to my collar bone turned black/blue. Mostly I was just very sore and had to stay home a week from work. I'm glad I had my seat belt on or it could have been a lot worse. It's a good thing I was by myself at the time. I always make my grandkids ride in the back seat, and that was where the worst of the damage was.
As they were lifting me into the ambulance, I was sooo thankful I had had this surgery. At that point I had lost about 40 lbs. In fact, I remember being happy that morning because I had finally gotten below 220. The next day, I had gained about 4 lbs back in fluid. So don't be surprised it the scale goes up, it's just fluid.
The best thing to do right now is rest--if you can. Now you have to deal with insurance companies, adjustors, car rental, getting a new vehicle and just trying to get your life back to where it was before the accident.
I will keep you in my prayers.
Cathy

I seriously hope you and Kasey are doing good. I hope he is feeling much better by his birthday.
People are crazy and they don't care about others. I'm so glad that the two of you are safe. You seriously had some guardian angels around you....
