I had found out that medcaid and medicare does not pay for plastic surgery, but i was given a few suggestions and I want to thnk you for that. However, i would like to stay closer to home and try to find out what I can afford, and how to get more help with medicaid and medicare if possible. I was told that medcaid may pay for this if it is suggested that my surgery be bi-lateral brachioplasty instead of cosmetic surgery. if so does anyone know about this procedure, and who and where I can get it done in the state of Louisiana? All and any info as well as help would be greatly appericated

I don't know if it is covered, but brachioplasty is the reduction of the excess skin on the upper arms. Bilateral means both sides or arms. You can check the listing for PS on the column to the left of this post. Your surgeon can probably refer you to someone who takes MC and MCare.

Hey Senay, I had my surgery this month on the 8th. Right now I am having a little trouble adjusting to the liquid diet and getting in protein. When did you have your surgery, and did it take you awhile to adjust, what kind of protein did you drink at first? I will E-mail you later on .
