I heard today that Dr. Weiss and Oldham are no longer practicing together and when I went to Bluegrass Bariatric's website, Dr. Oldham is not listed anymore. It is really hard for me to imagine the "dynamic duo" or so they thought, splitting. Is Dr. Oldham only in Louisville now? The website still lists Weiss as going all over. Wonder how long it will take to get all the billboards down with their pictures on it.

dr tompkins in Ashland ky takes well care...i know because i have conventry cares and have to switch he is located inside the kings daughters hospital.....he is excellent he did my lap band surgery in 2008...the band is perfect i just am not losing weight :(
im thinking of trying to get a revision from lap band to duo switch anyone know the process? is it doable? will medicaid pay for it? i stil have several co morbidies :(
I need your help. In particular, if you meet one or more of the following criteria, I could really use your help: a) you're reading this b) you're interested in easily seeing lots of Lexington Pics all in one place. c) the first letter of your last name is within "A" to "Z". Here's what I need: --> Anyone with photos from the KY event, upload them and USE THE "TAGS" function for the photo. Type this as the tag : "OH Lexington KY 2006 Event" (without the quotes). Nag your friends to do this. If you do, then we'll be able to put a link up (you can nag Amy to do this) that will point to that tag, and every photo that anyone had uploaded with that tag will show up in that place. Our IT team built this feature, but drop down options aren't there yet. So, let's manually wing this one for our collective convenience. Also, please do this as well : nag your friends to also use the photo uploading feature where they can list who is in the photo. Every event brings out a lot of group photos. Now is an excellent opportunity to let your peers know how much you'd appreciate being able to see what photos they (or you) or your other friends are in. (Again, our IT team built it: let's use it!) I Posted too quickly, if you are comfortable with being followed by a PA or NP then go with Weiss and Oldham they are awesome surgeons. I was just not comfortable with it. I have several friends that have had surgery by Dr. Steiner and they all seem to love him and all seem to have done well, I am sure he has some that haven't though, all doctors do.

Personally I'd go with Dr. Steiner. I use to see Dr. Weiss and he did my lapband, but I had some problems and was uncomfortable with the fact that he didn't follow his patients that either a PA or NP did. My por****ured and had to replaced, also. I never lost the weight. I later revised to RNY with Dr. Sonnanstine, who I loved but he left and moved to Ohio. I did great with him and this surgery until I had some problems, non weight loss related and had to take medication that caused weight gain. I am still happy with my surgery and wish Sonnanstine was still around. I first thought I'd travel to Ohio to see him but have found it is just too far, so at present I am without a Bariatric surgeon. I'd love to see one, but not many doctors will take other doctors patients and those that will are not COE and my insurance will not pay if they aren't.

I have been calling all around Louisville, Lexington, etc. and I am struggling to find a surgeon or facility that accepts Wellcare. I need help please!
I am going to have the sleeve procedure done - hopefully by this summer. I have narrowed the choice of surgeons to Weiss/Oldham at Bluegrass Bariatrics or Dr. Steiner at St. Joseph. Please - does anyone have any good or bad experience with these doctors? Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!!!
