Anyone who has Medicare (80%) and doesn't receive a medical card for the 20% and has had WLS, ever get a spend down card to help cover their cost (the 20%)?  That will be my situation - if anyone has any info I would greatly appreciate it.

Well there we go we have to get togethor then.
I love other peoples victories this can be such a lonely experience(I think a lot of people got to here because of lonely journies) and I think even pats on the back for people we don't know is encouraging.

My mom was joking the other day and she said since most of us can't make it to the G.town support group we should have our own up here. I just wouldn't want to upset Dr. Tom by doing it. I would feel very bad like I was stepping on his toes if I didn't ask for his blessing(is that weird)first. Oh well it's just a thought.

I am sorry you had that drive and it didn't work out, but let's hope all is well for the person he was taking care of.

Have a great day Valerie and feel free to e-mail me [email protected] or friend me on facebook wendy barnett burke

Hey Ladies,
I don't know why people don't post on here anymore.  I still enjoy reading about the smallest victory.  They help keep on keeping on.  I'm located in Florence, KY so I'd be up for a get together.

Valerie

PS  I went to Georgetown yesterday for a fill and was informed that he was caught up in surgery.  My sister and four kids were waiting in the car so I've rescheduled for Thursday.

Jane,

I have decided since we live in such close proximity(since I am in the humungous city of Erlanger) to each other we are just going to have to meet and have lunch.
I am so excited for you on your 4 years. We found Dr. Tom on here to
We to are on Facebook more than anything now. I hate to say it it is so much easier sometimes keeping up with friends and family.
I think this journey has been interesting and honestly a lot more fun than I thought it would be of course having my hubby doing it also has been a huge blessing since he understands the tiniest victories mean so much.
I still check out the board a few times a day just to see how people are doing and trying to offer any help to newbies.

Hope all is well
Wendy

My sisters and I use to love this but people just didn't make it fun anymore.  I have been on lately because today is my 4 year aniversary.  OH was such a big part of my surgery.  This is were I found Dr. Tom.  This was where I did a lot of research and here is where I met some nice people and became friends.  It is such a long journey and it would be nice to jump on here and follow along with everyones weight loss.   There are other forums I know but the Kentucky boards use to be so much fun.  I too stay on facebook more.  But my roots of my WLS is here at OH.
ON 10/17/05  I LANDED ON OZ NEVER GOING BACK UP IN THE DAMN

WARNING do not buy any appliances that will eventually become water filled from HH GREGG.
We had a new dishwasher installed buy them last week Patrick opened the cabinent under the sink  this morning and discovered that it was full of water and it had spilled all over our new tile that he just laid in our new house back in June and it was close to our new carpet in the dining room. Apparently they did not fully connect some house to some pipe or something. Thankfully it did not run into the floor boards under the sink or down the wall into our family room.
I know it is a complete accident I am just a little perturbed.
I'm just glad my husband is handy around the house if I would have been here by myself I would have been on the phone to dear old dad.

You typed just what I was thinking.
It should definitely be cut off at two. I imagine though, as any good study goes, the results will be very skewed.

ETA: The OP isn't even a year post op yet. *sigh*

It's only logical that she's going to get great, glowing reviews of bariatric surgery from those who are less than 3 years out. Everything is still fairly new, weight is coming off, not much regain, lab levels may still be good. Now that I think about it, since the OP obviously wants to skew the results of her research, she should probably cut it off at 2 years. She may get into dicey situations for people farther out than that. What a load......

Topic: Health Tracker Update: Meals and Reports

Last week we released two major updates. First was the public release of OH Groups where any ObesityHelp member can now create their own Group. Second was the addition of Activity Tracking to Health Tracker, which provides a robust and easy to use tool to track and monitor your exercise and activity. Today we have added My Meals and an Activity vs. Weight Loss Report to Health Tracker.

My Meals

My Meals allows you to group and store multiple food and beverage items as a custom meal that can be used over and over again. If you have meals that you eat on a regular basis, you will no longer need to log each food item individually.

To access My Meals, go to your Health Tracker in My OH and click on the Nutrition tab. You will see My Meals listed under Nutrition.
Creating a new meal works similar to your Food Log. You can search for food items on the right and add the foods to the meal on the left. A Calorie Breakdown chart and Nutrient Summary Label are also available for each meal.

Once a meal is created you can add that meal to your Food Log from My Meals by clicking "i had this" or you can search for the meal from your Food Log.
When searching for a meal to add to your Food Log, all meals will be returned when "My Foods" is selected in search. So, to "drill down" on meals that you have created, select to only show "My Foods." When a new meal is created it may require up to 30 minutes for that meal to be indexed and become searchable.

Activity vs. Weight Loss Report

Adding to the Macronutrient and Export Reports previously available, there is now an Activity vs. Weight Loss Report. This report will allow to compare Average Time in Activity vs Weight over time, providing you with further insight into what impact physical activity as on weight loss and weight loss maintenance. In Health Tracker, click Reports and then select Activity vs. Weight Loss.

We hope these additions to Health Track reduce the time required to log your daily food intake and makes it easier to view how physical activity impacts your weight.

Create your first meal now!

If you have any questions, comments or concerns about this release, please post them on the Main Message Board.
