Oh that's right you are just over the I 275 bridge.

I think I will have to figure out a way to make this come true.

Topic: looking at weight loss helps
i hate to admit it, but i'm whipped!!  for the past 10 years, i've battled weight loss from all angles! dieting, exercising, medications...with very meager results.

i have been diagnosed as a metabolic syndrome person.  i take metformin twice a day and watch what i eat, as far as carbs go... and i've been exercising like crazy, but its not helping much at all.

soooo.... out of frustration, i'm researching the lapband...

it appears to me that its the least invasive... but maybe you know some things i don't?  i'd appreciate your input...

also, i'd like to think my insurance... kentucky employee humana would assist in financing this...

i don't know if i meet their requirements...  i've the following proven diagnosi...

hypertension
metabolic syndrome

and my PCP says she'll bet her office call that i have a sleep disorder...

but this is going to get done if i have to pick up pop cans to pay for it!!!!

HELP?!!!

I was there foe 3 nights at the beginning of June and the staff was magnificent. My nurse even ran to the local market to get me sugar free popsicles. You would never get that in a big city. Best of Luck!!

Thanks for the replies! I have heard some not-so-good reviews from family friends who have been there for other procedures. Dr. Husted said I should only be there for 1 night so that's good!

I am very excited about having the VSG. I have been researching the band, the sleeve, and the DS since August. I feel the sleeve is the perfect option for me. I am also thrilled to have such a fantastic surgeon right here in my hometown. Being just 23 years old, I feel like my life is just about to get started thanks to Dr. Husted and his staff!

If anyone has any other comments about their experience at this hospital, please share! Thank you!

Congrats on your upcoming surgery. You picked a great surgeon and a great surgery, too. VSG is good because if you don't lose enough, you can always do a full DS. It's not for everyone but that is an option.

Good luck!!

I had surgery there, and I have talked to several others that have as well. My experience was just okay. I had surgery on Thursday, so I had to stay over the weekend. It seems when I was there, they were very short staffed. I waited a looonnnngggg time pretty much anytime I rang the nurse to go to the bathroom, ask for meds, etc. They were also not great about getting me up and walking. Everyone else I've spoken to has reported good experience, so maybe I was just there at a bad time??? I was only there for a few days, so all in all, it was bearable. I also think your experience will vary depending on what floor they put you on.
