I am not too far either - real close to Evansville.  I dont find anyone close to home on here either.

My doctor told me to go on a low carb diet for one week before surgery to shrink my liver to make my surgery easier on him. If it was very large, there would be a good chance to nick it.

NO, no, no, I didn't like that word 'nick', so I went on the Adkins induction diet for 2 weeks.  If one week would be good, think of the size of my liver if I went for two weeks.

I have been told, on this diet, the first 10 lbs loss would be water. It has sure slowed down now. I am going to buy a new scale. I think the one I have now is busted. It won't move.

I see you are way out of surgery. You must be an old hand at this board.

Do you know of any support meetings in this area?  Would love to attend one.

I see the surgeon next Monday to get the date scheduled.  I'm hoping for being able to have it done while my son is home from college over Winter Break.  He gets home of Dec. 18 and goes back to school on Jan 10.
