Topic: RE: Getting Ready for Thanksgiving Anyone?
I've been trying to plan my "plate" as well. We have a huge family get together for Thanksgiving and everyone in my family can cook their bottoms off...hence why I was the size I was. I'm 8 weeks out from surgery and while I can't stop thinking about all the goodness on the table I'm sure I'll be able to have more willpower than I actually think.
They will just have to pardon me when I excuse myself from dessert! (lol)
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

I don't know how far away you are from Lexington but I had my surgery done by Dr. Steiner at St. Joseph East. There are 3 doctors there that perform the surgery and they are a "Center of Excellence."

Hi... I am having my husband's whole family over. 40+ I just am going to eat a few bites of everything that I like. I have a hard time filling a plate. I end up looking like I am going to eat a small to moderate portion. It is hard to get a the right amount on the plate. I end up picking out what I want. It's funny, I do notice that others look at my plate. I always feel like they are saying or thinking that I eat too much. It is funny...eating so little and worrying about something like that.
Hope you have a fun and relaxing trip. Happy Thanksgiving!

Congratulations. I also had my lapband by Dr Schuster. I am his biggest fan. The staff at St Mary & Elizabeth were so nice & competent.
I have lost 70 lbs in the last 16 months. I only have about 15 more to go. It was the best thing I have ever done!!!!

Hey Sherry,
I don't know about Dr. Tompkins.
I just wanted to tell you that Dr. Ramos at Pikeville Medical Center does the sleeve. This program is a new program and he is new at PMC but he worked in Chicago previously. The sleeve is a great option in comparison to the band because you don't have to worry about any fills. Also it's easy to be revised to a full Duodenal Switch if you don't have enough weight loss with the restrictive part alone. Just a thought.
Good Luck!
