Your profile picture is pretty.  I am assuming you and I are about the same age and I understand if you think that is too much weight.  I am afraid when I do get to have surgery that wrinkles will appear when i don't have all this extra fat to puff it out!  I know I will look older than I do now.  I am 5'5" -in my mind I want to weigh 125 but that must be so scary to continue to lose weight when you don't want to lose anymore.

Thank you tjc.  I am 5'4" tall.  I am wearing size 5 jeans.  I know it sounds like an excellent weight and size for my height, but it isn't.  My DH had been on to me for months to eat, eat, eat.  I have tried, but the food just isn't putting on the weight. My face is so sullen that I look emanciated.

Thanks Wendy, it was so sudden. I had gotten in bed beside him for a nap around 2 in the afternoon and awoke about 4.  He seemed fine, but within a couple of minutes he was making gurgling sounds and just stopped breathing.  He had a cold for the past 2 weeks, but that was it.  I've been divorced before and  that was hard, so I have wished many times this week that he had just left me for someone else.  At least then I could call him or see him and curse him out for leaving me.  lol   As for my blood levels, my family doctor did all those about 3 weeks ago and even the iron levels were excellent.  What could I eat that would have fatty protein?

Thanks

I am so sorry about your loss.  Please be sure and take care of yourself.

How tall are you?  I would definately call your surgeon's office.

I have the band so you can take my advice almost with a grain of salt but it may be helpful and work.

FIrst I would definitely schedule an appoinment with your surgeon.

Second I would start from scratch with the origional diet stages and slowly add new flavors and textures as you go, maybe your body is in a little shock still from the trauma it goes through during and after surgery for a few weeks
You know liquids, pureeds, softs, regulars. I know it is a head ache going through that again but it may weed out the foods that you just plain do no tolerate anymore.

I wish you a lot of luck

Topic: RE: Who Survived Thanksgiving?
I am going to be totally honest. I let the "life style change"(or diet) go out the window for Thanksgiving Day through Monday morning.
I ate exactly what I wanted to eat I just tried to control the portions.
I will hit things hard starting with breakfast Monday morning and work like a dog to control my habits until the weekend of Christmas.
Then starting on New Year's day it will be back to the old grindstone, constant portion control and I have some new exercise plans and goals laid out before me.
I feel like I want to enjoy the food side of the holiday season as there are only certain things Mama and my mother-in-law only make one time a year and then it is back to hard work and dedication.
I almost feel better about the junk that I will be eating because I have a written out food and exercise game plan for the New Year

I am very sorry for your loss and you are in my thoughts and prayers.

On the weight loss issue I believe that I would contact your surgeon or even your family doctor just for a routine check up and maybe some blood work just make sure your not anemic, or your thyroid isn't acting goofy also if you have started any new mdeedicines that may be a side effect. I think there must be a logical and relatively simple explanation.
I would also maybe until you can see the docotor try for a little more fatty protein versus the normal lean protein that we try to consume. Maybe the extra calories and fat for energy will make you fill a bit better.

Please take care Brenda.

Hi everyone.  Hope everyone had a great holiday.  This was a sad one for me.  My husband (55 y/o) passed away one week ago today.  If you read The Floyd County Times, then you probably saw his obit.  But, on to my weight problem.  In the past few months I have been consistently losing weight.  It wasn't due to stress, my husband wasn't sick before his sudden, unexpected death.  I lost 23 pounds within 3 weeks in August and can not get it back on.  I am down to 125 and I look awful, feel awful, and have even started drinking Ensure to gain it back.  OK ladies, HELP!!  What can I do?  Never thought I would be asking for help to gain weight.  :)
