That's funny -- I have the opposite problem.  I do great with my food at work, but when I get home I have the munchies!

What I do to try to battle the urge to munch a lot is drink water.  When I'm drinking water, that means I can't eat for 30 minutes.  If I keep working on water, I have to keep puttiing off eating.  It helps me a lot.

Hi!  I'm glad that you had such a nice Christmas.  Ours was good, too.  I am so thankful that both of my parents are still living.  We spent Christmas Eve with them and my dad made his famous Christmas Eve cheeseburgers.  I ate half of the smallest one he made.  This year was a much better Christmas than last year -- my husband was out of the country then visiting his family.  We missed him so much!

My husband gave me a sapphire and diamond ring and Romance perfume by Ralph Lauren.   He spoils me!  I got some more jewelry from my mom and sisters, the giant cupcake cake pan I had seen any wanted, some nice bath stuff, and a gift card to Chico's that I haven't used yet.  My best friend gave me a Macy's gift card and I just went there and got two very cute tops for $25!  Can't beat that.

My kids had a great Christmas.  My little man is 8 and got the Mind Flex game he wanted, some DS and Wii games, and several Lego sets.  My daughter is 16 and she got a GPS, digital camera, and clothes.

The absolute best thing I got was stepping on the scale earlier in the week and seeing that I had made it to 100 pounds lost!

Best wishes to everyone for 2010!

Topic: Crossing Over to Transfer Addictions...VERY BAD TIME OF THE YEAR!
REMINDER....

http://www.obesityhelp.com/group/crossingtotransferaddictions/

Hi All,

There is a new OH Online Support Group. The above link will get you there.
It's called
Crossing Over to Transfer Addictions.

This group discusses the issue of transfer addictions (also known as cross addictions) after weight loss surgery. there are millions of people who have undergone gastric bypass who are now dealing with issues of addiction transfer.

For a number of people, giving up overeating leads to adoption of a new compulsion.

Addiction transfer occurs when someone is unable or unwilling to rely on one compulsion (for us, it was food) and so switches to a new compulsion (alcohol, drugs, sex, gambling, shopping, internet, porn, etc) due to not having dealt with the underlying issue behind the compulsion.

***Please feel free (and safe) to join and discuss any and/all issues you have regarding Transfer Addiction. ***

WE WILL SUPPORT EACH OTHER WITHOUT JUDGEMENT!

How was everyone's Christmas?
Ours was lovely and very enjoyable. Hoping everyone elses was the same.
I had a great time with my Mother, brother, sister in law, hubby, son and father. It was awesome and though it is raining in SF right at this moment the weather has been beautiful the majority of the time.
My 11 year old had a great holiday and loves all the gifts he recieved. I am pretty lucky he is a thankful child. He got a bunch of playmobil and is building a scene as I type. It is so cool to hear his imagination go!
I got many, many much needed clothing items- thanks Mom!  I got some slacks, and 2 sweaters, a long sleeve t, and a blouse I would not have picked up for myself  that is beautiful on the hanger and good on me. I got some snow gloves and a pair of silk liners -woo hoo, and some books. A pair of boots and some peep toe platforms-- neither of which I could wear 130 pounds ago. I feel very fortunate and blessed right now.

here's hoping you got all you desired for the holiday and were able to spend it with people you love-

Are you going with Dr. Sonnanstine?  There is more than one doctor that does WLS at Georgetown.    I am assuming you are since you are going threre for your informational stuff.
I have nothing but good to say about Dr. Sonnanstine, you will be in great hands.
