Hello, I read this post and noticed Dr. Sonnastine was listed. Is he the surgeon you are referring to? I am considering switching to him and am just curious. I am just trying to gather as much information as possible.

Thanks, I first went to the seminar Jan 4th and filled out my paperwork that night.  They called me on Thursday for my first appointment to be the next Thursday (1/14).  They already had a copy of the insurance card so they already pulled to see if they cover the procedure.  On my first appointment they set me up for the next appointment for the next day (1/15).  They told me on that Friday that it normally takes about a week for them to send in the paper work.  I found out that my paperwork had been received by my insurance company on (1/26) and on Friday (1/29) the doctor's office called me to tell me that the insurance company had approved the procedure and I have a surgery date of (2/18).  So from start to surgery date 7 weeks.  I have to say I'm very surprised how fast it went.  But, my BMI is 42 and I also have comorbities which helps in the getting the insurance approval.  Good luck on the process and let me know if I can answer any questions along the way.  It has been very helpful having both this site and the other site we used to registered (for the life of me I can't remember the name of it right now) for support and getting questions answered.  Take care.  Michele

I know what you mean by the kids being crazy!  Haven't you always heard about their behavior and changes in the barometric pressure?  I agree with the moon thing too-waxing and waning!

Let me know about Thrus.  I think I'll have a few friends that will come too.  Should be fun!

I found the ones I liked the best were the ones I came up with on my own. Trial and ...oh, I am NOT drinking that!  lol

Walmart's Body Fortress is still my favorite.

8 oz 2% or soy milk
2 packets of splenda
1 scoop protein powder
1/2 frozen banana (I peel and slice in half before freezing in baggie. Keeps them available and away from kids)
Handfull of whatever fruit I have in house and available.

Buzz it up in the magic bullet and drink!

Having had similiar issues with another surgeon, I can understand your frustrations. I will not go back to mine. He also cost me my life and then walked away like nothing happened. And he knows it!  I am afraid the thought of a law suit meant more to him than my contact/friendship/personal well being did. That is the sad thing for me.

If you change doctors, go PICK UP YOUR OWN PAPERWORK from the office! Tell them you want a copy of the ENTIRE chart... notes, everything. Also pick up a record from the hospital. I found many things missing from one or the other when compared.

Good luck... I am glad things worked out for you. Better better soon!

Topic: RE: XP: Six month post-op appt today with my surgeon
That is so cool! It is amazing to see how far we have all come in just a few months/years since surgery.

Even with  my complications post op and now 3 years out....I would do it again tomorrow!
