Topic: RE: Dr. Sonnanstine
Well guys..things are looking great. I have all my stuff to Dr. S office and I have just maybe one or two more test.....ummm...pulmonary and maybe something else. Waiting for Tina to call with some dates for me. I am so excited but so scared at the same time. I have started on my vitamins. UGH.....I am not happy with the chewable multivitamins but it is little to have to do every morning to stay happy and healthy. I think I have found I am partial to the Atkins protein shakes. Of course I know my taste may change as well.
Any suggestions for me on things you all have found on vitamins or protein supplaments for me to trey before surgery?
Anyone that wants to email me straight can. I am just so ready.
My email is [email protected]
Thanks Toni

Topic: RE: Dr. Sonnanstine
I had my surgery on 11/18 with Dr. Sonnanstine. He has been wonderful and very responsive! I thought I had given myself a hernia after about 7 weeks post op and he had to do a diagnostic laproscopy (however you spell it). He was supportive and understanding throughout the whole issue. I also like his nurse Steve and Wendy the receptionist. They are always so nice when you see them or talk to them.
Not to mention Dr. S. is very easy on the eyes. :)
Glad I chose him to do my surgery.

Topic: VSG with Dr. Husted Coming Up
Hey KY Friends...I am 6 weeks VSG pre-op with Dr. Husted in Somerset. I would sure like to hear about your experience with the good doc, with the hospital there in Somerset, and your overall experience - ESPECIALLY those who had the VSG. I'm 100% self pay and just a wee wee bit apprehensive after reading some of the post-op comments. While the surgery itself is completely possible for me finiancially, I certainly don't want to jeopardize my family in that area should additional procedures become necessary. Any and all feedback would be GREATLY appreciated.
Topic: RE: Anyone have WLS at Ft. Knox at Ireland Comm Hospital?
Hi there! thanks for your response i appreciate it! Did you every get put as an EFMP? Iknow i saw a post somewhere on here saying if you had WLS you could be put on that, but i do not want to affect my husbands career at all either.
Can i ask what your surgeons name is? My PCM is Dr. Jill Byers...this will be the first time i've seen her though.
I know i meet the weight requirements, but i'm worried that since i'm right at the 100lbs over that they may make me try to lose weight by myself again, which over the years just yo yos up and down and up and down. I'm more active nowthan i ever was but the weight is NOT coming off me.
thanks for the info again, i really appreciate it!

Tasha-
HI
I am a military dependant and use Ft. Knox. I was referred off base to a doc in Louisville. I am happy with my doc and have been happy with TriCare's coverage. You will need to stay on top of your referrals to your WL surgeon, but other than that it has been good. I have a great PCP at Ft. Knox he is on top of what tests I need and what vitamins and the like I should be taking.
I have a friend who had surgery on Ft. Campbell and had a good experience. I do not know if the MTF would recommend you to another.
I wish you the very best luck on this amazing journey!

Topic: RE: Passed out Saturday
Sounds like to me you suffer from orthostatic hypotension. Especially the way you described feeling light headed when you stand up too fast. It can also cause you to pass out. I'd definitely talk to my doctor about it and also go from a sitting to standing position at a slower pace :)

Holli, I'm so sorry for your loss. I was very close to my grandmother and she passed away 12 years ago. I still think of her (and miss her) almost every day. I hope that as time goes by, the memories of special times you shared with her will bring you comfort.
