Tina, in the office is pretty awesome with keeping up with everything. She knew I was stressing so she called me as soon as she had word instead of making me wait for the letter. I love her for that.
It will all go by so fast you will be surprised. Use the time you have to get ready for everything. You will have a appointment for your pre-op teaching soon and then your filter done and then the BIG DAY..WOOO HOOOO
I am excited for you. Best of luck!!! (((BIG HUGS)))

I am an eleven month post-op lapband patient of Dr. Husted's in Somerset and have my first appointment with Dr. Sonnanstine tomorrow.   I am a little nervous since I've only had one cc fill  in the 11 months with Dr. Husted.  Will Dr. Sonnanstine use fluoroscopy to find the port?  I played the guess & stick game with Dr. Husted and really don't want to do that again.  Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Has it really been 8 months since my surgery?  I can't believe it!  I'm so glad that I had my RNY.  I posted a couple of pictures in my profile that were taken today in honor of my surgiversary.  Dr. Geller's office also sent me the before photos that they took and I added them a while back.   I don't even recognize the woman in those photos any more!

What a difference 8 months has made!  I feel so much better and my health is much improved.

Thanks Teach!

I got my phone call from Dr. Shina's office (i think thats how it is spelled) so I am to see him on March 23rd.  And i have nutrition classes once a week for 12 wks i know i have to do.  I am 100lbs over, and just to be sure i may load up on water every time i go in to weigh too.  The receptionist had me worried because she said i HAD to have sleep apnea w/ cpap or another life threatening comorbid or else i would not be approved.  So i dunno.  If it takes 6mo so be it, so long as i get it done.  Right now i'm soooo stressed with work and school i actully lost 15lbs, but that's from just not eating cause of stress.  I'll end up gaining it all back plus more in a couple weeks/mo times, that's like how i've always been!  SIGH...it's so hard with the waiting, but at least my 1st referral to the bariatric surgeon even went though!

Tasha-
I am sorry I do not check oh all the time.
I have never heard about the WLS putting a member on EFMP.  I have a few close friends whose hubbys are active duty and they have not had that.
I have doctor Murphy and he is great.
As for the 100 pounds....if you have ANYTHING else...pain in load bearing joints, sleep apnea, type 2 diabetes, anything you will most likely make it without hesitation. BUT be ware they MAY make you do a 6 month diet. There are sooo many variences it is crazy.  I did not have to, BUT I had proof of it before. If your hundred pounds puts you over 40 bmi you should be fine as well.
IF you have anymore questions please feel free to contact me again-
I will check back soon.

Dr. Thompkins did my surgery and everything was submitted and I received a call within 9 days that I was approved. I got the call before I got the letter from my Ins. company. But every company is different so if you don't hear anything after 2 weeks I would feel free to call them. Glad to have finally found a few people somewhat local thats using the same office. Best of luck!!!
