I figured this was the problem Dr. Husted was having with the hospital. That really sucks (for lack of better words). I sure hope he is able to find a hospital that is in Kentucky and allows him to do the Duodenal Switch procedure.
I agree with you, the hospital is making a big mistake. Sometimes though, it's more about $$ instead of actually giving people the best surgery. If I am ever able to have my revision, it will definitely be with Dr. Husted. I pray he stays somewhere in KY. I don't think people realize how lucky we are to have such a gifted surgeon.

Don't lose faith in Dr. Husted. He is an amazing surgeon. It sounds like he is having an issue with the hospital itself and is trying to come to a reasonable agreement with them. The only thing I never understood about his practice is that he has his own staff and his practice has a staff too; which kind of makes things confusing, especially when you don't know who to deal with.
If it doesn't work out with Dr. Husted, I hope you are able to move forward with another surgeon.

Thanks, Leanne, for your recommendation. I thought his bio listed the VSG as an option - perhaps not.

I don't think he does the VSG, does he? He is my surgeon and when we met, we only talked about the band and the gastric bypass.
He is a wonderful doctor though! I recommend him 100%.
