How long until surgery

My name is Angie and I am scheduled for a WLS seminar on May 8th. How long does is usually take to get all the testing, insurance approval (i have medicare) and an actual surgery date? Just anxious and curious. I don't think I will have any problems with insurance approval because my BMI is 42 and I have several co morbidities. Thanks for your help and response.

So if you don't lose weight on the 6 month diet thing is that a negative in the ins companies eyes??

No not neccesarily, usually those 6 month and 3 month diet history things are to show that you attempted to lose weight. Most insurances require that but some don't, Ky medicaid doesn't and thats what I have. I was approved in 1 day and I consider myself very lucky. take care

Hey Angie, This is your neighbor Aaronda. I had a lapband on 3/10/06 in Ashland. Not much help about how long it will take because my insurance wouldn't pay for the band so I self paid. Good luck with everything. As of now I don't regret anything. Aaronda
