My advice to you is to contact a Dr in your area that does weight loss surgery. They'll have an insurance coordinator that knows all the ins & outs & how to word things for approval by your insurance. Don't give up! I started w/my insurance June 05 & had my surgery March 23. I wished I'd had it done sooner.

Also, contact your insurance company and see if they cover WLS. I have Humana and had no problem with them. Be warned though, sometimes they DO require a 6 mos medically guided weight loss program prior to surgery. Contact them and see what they say! Good luck!
