I have sagamore health insurance and they have an exclusion for gastric bypass, but i sent in my appeal letter and still havent heard anything from them keep calling them and they say that i need to speak with "so and so" and they arent in. they say that they will leave a message for them and i never get a answer. the one time that i did get an answer the gentleman said that they have 30 days to review and they would let me know i have been waiting and waiting and still no answer. my questions are should i keep calling and bugging the S*#$ out of them or should i just send another letter demanding an answer ? Also has anyone ever purchased insurance from a company to just get approved for the surgery? I am tired of waiting on them to decide and i am just wanting to get this surgery done so i can get my life started. please please someone help me any answers would help ALOT

Hi Amanda, If they have a written exclusion, then chances are you should start looking for a new company. Only very rarely have companies approved with a exclusion. I would probably still touch base with them once a week or so until you hear something definitive. Good Luck!
