Northern Kentucky????

Is anyone from N.K.? I am going through St.Luke West and havent heard much about them. I have done my homework and they seem good, i just havent met anyone that went there? Louwana

Welcome Louwana I am very familiar with St. Luke West, Dr. Sonnanstine and his staff. I spent the entire day with him yesterday.. Dr. Sonnanstine did not do my surgery, he wasn't in the area when mine was done..but if I had to do it over again there is no doubt he would be my choice. He is an excellent surgeon with incredible skills and training..he spent ayear at Tufts New England in a fellowship, meaning after his residency he chose to spend a year learning nothing but bariatric surgery..that is a huge plus! His bedside manner is incredible and his patients love him! His staff is awesome..what had attracted me most about this center is their love for what they do..and how much they are "into" their patients.. I went up on the floor yesterday to visit the patients from his Monday surgeries.."I always ask, how many times did you see the doc today?" the answer from all of them was 3...it wasn't 1pm yet..and he had been in surgery all day, that meant while he was in between surgeries he went upstairs to check his patients..the man is incredible..thank goodness he is young and has all that energy..lol I have been very fortunate in being a part of the Cincinnati conference and now joining forces with OH in the Lexington National event in 2006 ..that has allowed me to not only meet with many surgeons but also to observe them in surgery..anyone who knows me knows this doc is my #1 favorite. He and I decided together that I wanted to be his patient advocate..I am not paid for this position it is volunteer..so for me as a former patient I know how important skill, bedside manner and love for what they do means to a patient..and I have to add..he ain't bad to look at either..lol...when patients make that remark to me I always add one thing, his heart is as pretty as his blue eyes! Betty the most important question here is....how much money did you spend at the factory?? HI LOUWANA MY DOCTOR IS DR. SONNASTINE. I AM HAVING MY RNY LAPROSCOPIC ON MONDAY 10/17. DR SONNASTINE AND HIS STAFF ARE EXCELLENT. YOU HAVE TO BE COMMITTED. DR LISA WEST-SMITH IS THE PHYSCHOLOGIST AND SHE WAS VERY EASY TO TALK TO AND I THINK BETH IS SO GOOD. I WISH I HAD MET HERE YEARS AGO. EVERYTHING IS DONE IN A TIME FRAME AND YOU HAVE TO DO EVERYTHING IN AN ORDER AND WHEN YOUR ALL DONE WITH YOUR APPOINTMENTS AND YOUR 4 GROUP CLASSES IT ALL REALLY CLICKS. MY CONSULT WAS IN JULY AND HERE IT IS OCTOBER AND I AM A GO. INSURANCE WAS FILED IN A TIMELY MATTER WHEN ALL INFORMATION WAS OBTAINED. I JUST CAN'T SAY ENOUGH HOW IT SEEMS EVERYONE WORKS TOGETHER.
