I am 20, I weight.... 305, and i am only 5'4. I know that I am going to die early, I just cant seem to get motivated. I did it before, I lost about 80 pounds in like 5 months with just diet and excersize and some kind of appetite suppressent. I have been with my husband for 4 years now, and since we have been together, i have been gaining and gaining... like 130 pounds with in 4 years. I just want to know who has done it without surgery because I cant afford the surgery!!! My insurence sucks... but anyway, i also have athmsa, so it is hard for me to get up and go very often... I just really need help. I want children so badly, and want a long happy and healthy life, I just really need help!!! Thank you. ap

When I was 35 I went to The Weight Loss Clinic. I was put on a VERY severe diet (750 calories a day). I went in every weekday to weigh and met with a nurse a couple times a week. In 13 months I lost 152#. I also went to a toning bed facility during that time. The WLC program was VERY expensive, it cost me several thousand dollars for the 13 months that I went. At the end of the 13 months I was very thin, I felt terrible and my hair was ruined... I had to have it all cut off because it had turned into the consistency of cotton candy. Within a year I had gained back about 80 of those pounds and after that put on over 100 more. Through the years I would go on periodic diets because I KNEW I could lose the weight...and I would. 30# this time. 40# the next time. Each time it came back with more than before. I finally came to the realization that for whatever reason, I could not do this without help. All the years of yo-yo dieting had trashed my metabolism. I vacillated for 3 years about having the surgery... I was all gung-ho then read the memorial page and was scared off. 3 years later I was sitting in a physical therapy facility with the therapist telling me my left foot/leg was severely damaged from the weight I was carrying and the right was showing signs of damage as well from favoring the left. She told me that if I didn't get the weight off SOON I would be in a wheelchair. 2 months later I was on the table having my RNY. My only regret with the surgery was not having made the decision 3 years prior when I was originally researching it. We had to self pay the surgeon because our insurance would not cover him. We also had a large portion of the rest of the bill to pay, but we took out a loan for it. It was an investment in our future. I hope you find the help that you need to effectively deal with your weight problem. Surgery is definitely not for everyone and it is not something that should be considered frivolously. But for those of us *****ally HAVE tried everything like me, it's a Godsend. Good luck! Rhonna 320/287.5/175/165
