Private Room??

I am having surgery Oct. 18th and I was wanting to know if I should request a private room? I read somewhere the Dr. Geller puts his patients on the old OB floor and they are all private rooms..anyone know anything about this?? Also, What do you think of Suburban Hospital..I wasn't too pleased a year ago when my mom was there for her hysterectomy.

I was hospitalized there about 5 years ago and had to shower down the hall from my room. That seemed very strange to me. I wouldn't choose that hospital again.

Hi Martha! Dr. Geller is also my surgeon and I stayed one night at the Norton's Suburban Hospital on the OB floor. It was OK as far as I was concerned. Nothing really stuck out as particulary good or bad while I was there. The room was clean and the nurses were pleasant. My room wasn't private, I had a roomie for part of the night which was OK since I was bored out of my mind and couldn't sleep anyway. Charles

Hi, Martha! I had surgery two weeks ago, and stayed at Norton Suburban for two nights. I did request a private room, and was given one. My room was very clean, and the staff was excellent. There was a shower in my bathroom. Take care, Jo
