Hi everyone. Just wanted to update on how things are going after the first 10 weeks of living with the lap-band. As of today, I have lost 56 pounds and approximately 6 inches on my waist. I've had one fill which has given me some restriction but not quite to the sweet spot yet. I'll have another fill in about 4 more weeks. I have so much more energy now than I have in a very long time. As far as exercise, I've been playing basketball, golf, and walking at least 3 times a week. Also, I've been involved with several WLS support groups and have become really good friends with several members of these groups! I can't even begin to tell you how wonderful it is to have friends who have gone through the same challenges with weight loss as I have and to share successes & stories about WLS. My best, Charles

Sunni, Hi! Thanks for the warm wishes! I'm glad to hear that you're feeling better now and I hope to see you at our next group meeting. By the way, I was wondering what the name of the park is where you mentioned that you go walking. I think you said it is in Radcliff and has nature trails. My best, Charles

Susanne, Hi!! Thank you so much for the kind words. I hope all goes well for you on Friday! You will be in my thoughts and prayers. It's perfectly normal to be nervous before surgery - I'm sure you'll do terrific! Dr. Shina is a wonderful surgeon. He is partners with Dr. Geller who is my surgeon. I can't wait to see that picture on your profile! Charles

Charles I had mentioned Radcliff City Park...It is off Dixie Hwy. All I seen was the skate ramps, but then I went up the drive and found a perfectly wonderful park to walk..It is shaded, and has hills and level ground, perfect for walking! It makes a circle, so you can walk it a few times and end up at your car. I walk my neighborhood in the evening, it is right at 2 miles...And there are 2 really nice size hills. I am so happy that your band is working for you! You are doing so awesome! Huggs Sunni

Sunni, Thanks! I'm looking for a new place to walk. There's lots of construction in my subdivision and it's too dusty to walk in it right now. What's the park near off Dixie Hwy? I've also thought about walking at the Saunder Springs park off N. Wilson. It has nice walking trails ... but is very hilly. Talk to you soon! Charles
