Support in Florence?

Looking for a support group in or around Florence KY. Anyone know of anything like that?

I had my visit with Dr. West last Friday and I thought she said there was a support group which was started by one of the patients. You might want to check with the office. Hope you are feeling and doing well.

Hi Shelley and Jane..good to see you folks here. Dr. Toms patients meet I believe it's once a month at the hospital he also often times has a group meeting after his information session the first Thursday of every month..at times he has guests speakers too. Call Taryn at the office or email her to find out more. I belong to a support group wlsbutterflynetwork.org we meet every other Friday at the old Betheda Hospital in downtown Cinci off the Wm. Howard Taft exit..we have a few of his patients join us.. We do alot of fun stuff, have speakers (Dr. Tom and Lisa have both been guest of ours) We do alot of things in winter like the festival of lights..This year I hope we go to Winter fest since it's opening back up at Kings Island..we are always looking for more things to do.. Also don't forget this Saturday is the Obesity Help conference where again both Dr. Tom and Dr. Lisa will be speaking along with many other surgeons and motivational speakers. If you are interested and have not signed up already email me or go through the docs by calling Taryn..I will see to it you get the discounted price.. The conference will be an opportunity for you to meet and talk to other WLS patients going through alot of the same things you are..to join in classes that will answer alot of your questions and to learn what happens further out.. Shelly, I emailed Taryn at Dr. Sonnanstines office..here is the info she sent me about support groups. Brenda We have Post op support group peer led on theses dates/times August 16 @ 5:30, Sept 1 & 13, Oct 6 &18, Nov 3 &15 and Dec 1 all group start @ 5:30 pm. Tonight we have Dr. Martin a plastic surgeon coming. If you have any question have them e-mail me.
