LAPBAND INFO Please

Im a 33 yr old mother of teenage girls. 5 2 256 lbs with a bmi of 46. I have been looking into all types of wls. Lapband sounds the most appealing so far. I would love to hear from anybody who has had the lapband surgery or people who are looking into it. Thank you and GOD Bless you

I had my lapband surgery almost a year ago (August 11, 2004) at Georgetown, Ky. So far I have lost aroun 84 lbs and am about 14-18 lbs from goal. Holly, Hi! I had the lap-band surgery about a month ago and I've had no complications so far. The surgery lasted about an hour and I stayed one night in the hospital (although I felt ready to leave the afternoon of the surgery). I lost 18 pounds during the first 2 weeks and I haven't weighed since ... but I know I've lost weight because my clothes are getting too big to wear. HI! I LOVE MY BAND! It has given me my life back. AND IT IS A NORMAL LIFE! It is amazing. I can walk outside w/ my daughter without getting out of breath, I can ride rollercoasters now, I am down 2 sizes in clothes so far....and this is just the beginning. Have you chosen a surgeon yet?
