I love my PCP!!!

I called my PCP's office on Monday to tell them that I need a letter to take with me whenever I get my surgeon's appointment and copies of my chart. She was busy and I had to leave a voicemail. I figured I would call back on Friday and remind them. But, while I was at work yesterday, they called and left a message on my cell phone that everything was ready. I went and picked it all up today and they didn't charge me a dime. In addition, my PCP wrote a wonderful 3 page letter and told me to have them give it to the insurance company. It talked about all my co-morbs, the problems I have with my knees, my family history, all the meds I'm on, how long I've been obese, etc. It also talked about how I've been on a medically supervised weight loss program for the last 18 months as well as me being on Jenny Craig, Weigh****chers, Nutri System, and taking Phen Fen in the past! I love my PCP! Heather

Heather...that is great! It is wonderful to have a helpful PCP, and it looks like she covered all the necessary areas! I was so worried about my so-called "letter of recommendation" from my PCP--he wrote "This patient needs obesity surgery" on a prescription pad of all things!! I took it and submitted it, ....and it must've worked cause I got approved...LOL Good luck! Sheila
