Dr. Steiner???anyone???

Hello everyone, My RYN surgery is scheduled for the 28th of this month and I am going to St. Joe's East in Lex. Does anyone have any insight on Dr. Steiner? He seems to be very smart and professional. Any good or bad knowledge about him or his team? Thanks for any help you can offer. Brooke

Hi Brooke, Dr. Steiner did my surgery back in January and I am doing great. He and the staff have been wonderful... no complaints! If there are any specifics you want to know, or anything other info I can help you with, just let me know. Trust me, you're in good hands! Kytz

My mother-in-law had surgery last year with Dr. Steiner and she loves him. St. Joe East did an excellent job with her after care and she would recommend them in a heart beat. My high school friend Melissa Daniels works there and she's done fabulous with her surgery. My mother in law has lost 130 lbs and is now at her goal weight. I'm sure you'll do just fine!! Jaimie

Hi Brooke. You are welcome to read my profile. I am probably Dr. Steiner's biggest fan!!!!!!!!!!! I have had many problems and even had some very serious problems going into surgery. Dr. Steiner has actually saved my life on two or three occasions. I am over two years post op and couldn't have had a better surgeon. He knows his stuff. He is a little quiet natured but is very kind and compassionate. he will do everything in his power to take care of you. I have never heard anyone say anything bad about him. He has saved my life. The other people on staff are great also. I didn't like the hospital the first time. Perhaps, I was too hard on them. I am a nurse and felt like the nursing care was not that great but others have had a very positive experience with the hospital. I have too, on other occassions. I highly recommend dr. Steiner. Did you read his profile here inder the "find a doc". You will see he has trained with the best of the best and is highly educated in Bariatric surgery.

You could not have made a better choice. I chose Dr. Steiner over his other two associates based on the recommendation and experience of an acquaintance of mine. I have never regretted my choice for one moment, in fact... that I am here today is largely due to his knowledge, expertise and attention to detail. When things started going wrong for me after my surgery, he was right there carefully watching the situation, ready to step in with aggressive treatment when it was determined that it was necessary. He is an extremely gifted surgeon, knowledgeable and talented, attentive and exceptionally kind. I could not have asked for a better doctor to give me this chance at a thin and healthy life! You will come to love the girls in the office. They are also very helpful and concerned about their patients. St. Joseph East is a great hospital... I had my RNY there and I also had another emergency surgery there (not WLS related) a few months later. The staff is wonderful... and some of the WLS nurses have also had WLS, which is very helpful. They try to give their WLS patients private rooms and are very accomodating to patients wanting to have someone stay with them. My room had a fold out sofabed in it and he stayed with me the entire time, 4 days. Honestly, you couldn't be in better hands. I am confident that you will do just fine! Rhonna

Thanks for all of your imput on Dr. Steiner. I guess I am just getting those last minute jitters. Believe it or not, I have never spent the night in the hospital and I think that is scaring me as much as anything. Again, THANK YOU and wish me luck...... Brooke
