Kentucky Roll Call!!!

Unfortunately I have Bluegrass Family Health insurance and they won't cover plastics. Since I worried about the skin issue I started saving for the tummy tuck not long after I had lapband surgery. I'm a transplant to Harrodsburg. I've only been here 3 years. Before that I lived in far western Ky. It's a nice area in general. I enjoy living here.

Well...I'm Sheila, and I will be five months post-op on the 25th. I have lost 84 pounds so far, and I feel great! My surgeon was the fabulous Dr. Rodriquez (I'm forever grateful to him). Although I had surgery in Louisville, I am from the beautiful mountains of Eastern Kentucky, and I would love to hear from more people from here...maybe even start a support group! I love the message boards, and think they are a great way to keep up on everyone...I would encourage all lurkers (I was one too ) to jump right in and join the conversations! Great idea Jo! Sheila

Hey Y'all My name is Tonya and I live in south central Ky. I had my surgery 12-28-04. Dr. Shina in Louisville was my surgeon. No regrets!! Well maybe one- I wish I had considered surgery MUCH earlier in my life!! I grew up in Louisville. I now live in the country. And I LOVE IT!!! I visit the messageboards often!! Yes, the KY boards are not very active but the info is good!! Maybe we can build these boards up. The messageboard I post on the most is Dec 2004- my surgery month. I do read the KY boards each day I'm home. Everyone is welcome here!! And remember there is NO SUCH thing as a stupid question!! Post your questions, concerns, and of course good news here!! I hope to meet some of you all someday- in person!! I have to go get ready for VACATION!! YEAH!! WOO HOO!! I will be back on the boards next Monday. Everyone be blessed and be good to yourself! Hi y'all! I'm Kristina and I'm in Hodgenville, KY which is about an hour south of Louisville. I'm a patient of Dr. Allen and got my band 54 days ago. I've lost 51 pounds as of yesterday. I mostly hang out on the lapband board, but I do try to check in on this board once a day. Good to see some action! Peace, Kristina 500/449/199

Hello Kentucky Message Board! I'm from Elizabethtown which is about 30 miles south of Louisville off I-65. I had the lap-band surgery with Dr. Geller (Louisville Bariatrics) on Monday (7/11/05) and so far things couldn't be better! I'm very optimistic that this will be a life-changing journey. I'm a "retired" Nuclear Engineer who teaches high school Chemistry & Physics. I previously worked for about 12 years for the Department of Defense in the nuclear weapons program and for the Department of Energy designing nuclear reactors for Navy submarines. I recently moved from NY to KY to be located near my family in Elizabethtown. I believe that it is the best decision I ever made! Hi All, My names is Alethea and I am from about 70 miles south east of Louisville and am awaiting approval and a date. I go this Thursday for my Psych Eval, ( I will have to be sure not to tell them about all the voices ) and my visit with the dietician etc. I am so excited about it! I have been lurking around here for the past few weeks, I love to read about all the success everyone has had!
