I'm Home
Hi everyone!
Just wanted to let you know that I'm home and doing fine. My surgery went smooth as could be. I arrived at the hospital on Monday at 5:30 am and went in to surgery at around 8 am. I think Dr. Geller told me that it took around 50 minutes to do the lap-band procedure. All I remember was waking up in the recovery room and that I was aware of everything that was going on around me. I had to wait in the recovery room for about 2 hours because they didn't have any available hospital rooms since the hospital was so busy. Fortunately, they let me watch TV to pass the time! LOL
I spent Monday night in the hospital and was bored to death. I walked around the floor looking for people to talk to and actually tried to get a group of patients together to play cards. Dr. Geller came to the hospital at around 5 pm on Tuesday and told me I was released to go home. I slept great last night except for getting up every 30 minutes to go use the bathroom (must have been all of the IV fluids they gave me!). Today, I'm a little sore at the incisions - but otherwise I feel great.
Thanks to all of you who have been so supportive and encouraging to me during my journey!! You are the most wonderful friends I could have ever imagined having!
Best wishes!
Charles

Leatha,
Hi! So I'm not the only person in KY up at all hours of the night reading these messages. LOL
Thanks so much for your message and thoughtfullness!!! I'm still feeling great ... just a little hungry from the post-op liquid diet.
I never did get a card game together. The other patients kept complaining about being in pain and so forth .... what party poopers!
Best wishes!
Charles
