ObesityHelp is coming to Cincinnati

Cincinnati is hosting the regional ObesityHelp conference. If your support group is planning to attend this event please contact me for group rates. If you do not belong to a group contact me and I will get you the same discounted rate of $31.00 if you hurry before time runs out.. Also we will be selling discounted tickets for an after 5pm pass to Kings Island good that day only.. Kings Island has also donated 4 tickets good on anyday this season as a give away. Brenda...I've already had a chance to hear some of the speakers that are scheduled for this conference and it promises to be a really good one. Dr. Thomas Sonnanstine from St. Luke West, specializing in lap RNY and lap band, is an excellent speaker who has a very interesting presentation that includes information on some of the cutting edge research in bariatric surgery. Dr. Lisa West-Smith from St. Luke West is great at addressing the psycho-social aspects of weight loss. Dr. Jennifer Butterfield and Dr. Curtis Martin both have very informative presentations regarding plastic surgery after weight loss surgery. And, Steve Tomsic is a wonderful and very entertaining motivational speaker...love his graham cracker story...that's one I know every post-op can relate to. I've also heard that there will be classes on a variety of topics related to the weight loss journey, product vendors and support groups represented, food and prizes. Sounds like alot of fun...I'm really looking forward to it. Tell me, how can I get tickets? Since I'm not that familiar with the area, how do I find the place?...Lisa

Lisa, thanks for your interest in the conference. I will be at St. Luke this Thurs night taking your reservations right after Dr. Sonnanstines information session..we can sign you up there!! If you can't make that meeting email me direct for more information..You are correct in saying these speakers are awesome, anyone who knows me knows that I am a bit partial to Dr. Sonnanstine and the St. Luke center. There are two plastic surgeons (Dr's Jen Butterfield and Dr. Curtis Martin) presenting along with Dr. Gersin from the UC group..Dr. Curry of Deaconess Hosp. will be MCing the doctor Q and A..panel. Most of the surgeons and docs will be very visible at the event as most have signed on as vendors Others such as Slender touch, Vitamist, Howe Rehab, several local hospitals will be there along with the surgeons, even those not presenting are coming for the fun!! I will also be taking reservations for the Kings Island after activity, but selling those tickets at the conference..(cash only)..if you are interested in those tickets look me up at the conference!! It's pretty easy to get to the conference from KY..take 71 north to Pfeiffer rd. exit..turn left off the exit to Reed Hartman Highway..right on Reed Hartman, you will find the Embassy Suites on the left side of the Rd. I Just wanted to post... That Susan Maria from Bariatriceating.com will be attending the OH Conference in OH. Should you want to get out and finally meet this great person, please make time to come out to the conference. This event will prove to be very informational as well as a way to network with other WLS peers. Come on OUT !!!!
