type 2 diabetes testing

Today at 9:30 i am being tested for type 2 diabetes. What happens? Do they just ***** my finger? Do i have to stop eating and eat nothing else or can i eat up til the lab work..my doc didnt share anything with me except i need to eat at 7:30 and get tested at 9:30. I am a slow eater today and forcing myself to eat...its 8:00 now..i am worried i shouldnt eat anymore..any help?????? i posted this on the other boards also...
