Hospital Stay

Hi everyone! I was just wondering on average how long the hospital stay will be for an RNY? How soon do you feel like leaving the house after discharge? I am excited but nervous waiting for my day, slowly getting everything ready. I am glad for this site to get information.

Susan, congrats and good luck on your upcoming surgery. I had my open RNY on Friday, Feb. 25th and came home on Monday, Feb. 28th. I had my surgery at Norton Hospital and they made the stay very comfortable for me. After I came home, I felt good enough to go out that Wednesday. I've basically been up and about ever since! Thanks for the response. I will be at Norton's downtown in Louisville, Dr. Rodriguez is the surgeon. Sheila, I hope I do as well as you. My daughters have their spring concert just 7 days after my surgery and I really hate to miss it.
