could use some advice
I could never stand those nasty things at all. Not even the unflavored ones. The texture was the worst. I did try different protein bars as soon as I was able to have solids. Detour is the only one I can stand besides certain morning start chocolate chip crisp and I can't remember the other one. I drink carb countdown chocolate milk and smoothies. They have added protein to them. They are Atkins approved. LOL Like that means anything. LOL I just did the best I could on getting the protein in. To be honest, I am 10 months out and there is times I still don't get in all my protein. Close but not always the amount I need. I follow the rules, protein first and if room veggies. Most of the time, I don't have room for veggies. Veggies and friut turns into my snacks so I can have some carbs that our bodies needs. Congrats on the 32 pounds!! I hope this helps you out some.

Unless you are a person that can handle meat on a daily basis, you are not going to be able to handle the protein 'thing" as you call it. I tried many shakes before i found one I could tolerate. i drink Elite brand. You can order samples from bariatriceating.com. For awhile i stopped them to try and eat my protein. I can eat cottage cheese, cheese, eggs but very little meat. i got run down really bad and lost too much weight. I also order the power crunch bars which are great from bariatriceating.com They taste more like those little debbie snack cakes. Most of the over the counter stuff is vile. NO< IT DOES NOT YADYE LIKE A SNICKERS OR MILKY WAY as some people say. I am sorry to be so blunt, but sometimes you just have to suck it up on the protein unless you can eat a lot more than I can at two years post op. Vitamins and protein are the two most important things for us. You will find out real fast if you start skipping either. Good luck and I hope you keep on trying to find something you like. have you ordered samples of different things. If you don't have a credit card you can pay with money orders. Another place to buy samples is vitalady.com or valleynutrition.com.
