Still bummed but feeling better....
My friends and family are all really supportive right now. My SIL told me
last night to go ahead and apply through my insurance company for wls
approval. I am seeing my PCP tomorrow and will talk to her about it and
see if there is anything she can do to help me. I am also going to see her
about an issue with my sinuses and my jaw. Seems that in the last 3 days
everytime I get a little cold my jaw doesn't want to work. It's my left jaw
and it's usually about the time I'm about to eat something. It's like I get
so cold it just locks up and I have to struggle through pain to eat. I can
not even open my jaw far so small bites seem to be all I can eat. Good in
one aspect I suppose but bad in the fact that it hurts so much. Oh well.
Hopefully tomorrow I will know if the doctor will help with the insurance
company or if I'll have to try and get a grant or something to pay bills and
my surgery.

mary, do not run yourself ragged trying to get your insurance approval yourself. If you use The Center for Weight Loss Surgery, they would perfer that you let them handle the whole thing. They will do it all. My pcp didn't even know I had the surgery till after the fact. This is where so many people mess up and actually slow their approval down by getting in the way. Just relax. They will do it all for you.
Dr. Niebert was the one who said to call your insurer to see if they would cover. It was also my PCP *****commended I have surgery. She said she'd help out where she can. Besides my appointment was cancelled so I ddin't see her today anyways. I'm going to sleep on it some more and see what happens.

It doesn't hurt to call your insurance. I was talking about trying to get your own approval. I don't know what options you have if they flat out told you they wouldn't cover it. Is that even with medical necessity? i did that too before I even went to the seminar. Found out that yes, it would be covered if it was medical necessity. Then when I went to my seminar and turned my papaer work in, they took it from there. Actually, I turned my paper work in even before I went to the seminar. I had gone to A semionar with a friend as a support person. I was at the hospital visiting her when she had her surgery and Dr. Steiner came in and I talked a little to him. he sent me downstairs to their office to get my paper work. The office used to be in the actual hospital part on the first floor. He knew I had been to the seminar with her. he also knew about my old jib. So I took it back up to her room and filled it out and turned it inthat very day. But I did go to a seminar later on even tho they were going to count the one I had gone to with my friend. Course that was over two years ago. Well, good luck!!!!!!!!
