Anyone heard of Bluegrass Family Health Insurance?
Hi, I have been trying to have surgery for almost three years now. Has anyone heard of Bluegrass Family Health, if you have do you or anyone you know have it and had gastric banding? My insurance coverage won't kick in until August. It will be through my husband's work and you have to wait a year from the time you are hired to be covered.
I will be going back to Dr. Wheeler when I think I have a chance. I went to him when I was trying to have it before and I really liked him and felt comfortable with him. He took my gallbladder out last year.
Any help or advice would be great.

I had BGFH when I had my lap-band surgery. If you are over 100 pounds and follow their guidelines they will approve you for surgery. You MUST have 6 months worth of documented visits to Weigh****chers meetings (once a month is sufficient) or have 6 months of physician directed weight loss attempts (they are very picky on what has to be in your doctor's notes) or have 6 months documented weight loss attempts through prescription medication such as xenical. I chose weigh****chers, it was the easiest. You have to commit to doing one of these for 6 months, but if you do they will approve much easier than some of the other insurances. I have CHA now and it sucks.
