I am Back At Home!!!!!!!!!!

Tuesday, March 15, 2005 Hello every one, I had my surgery on Friday March 11, 2005 at Norton's Hospital in Louisville, KY. The first night I can't really tell you much about, but was told by my family that everything went fine. On Saturday march 12, 2005 I got up the first time and it was quit a challenge. I was in and out for almost all morning. I then got up at around 3 PM. Took a sponge bath, put on my own clothes and started to walk around a little. It was not much but every lil thing counts. By the time it hit 8 PM I did almost all rounds by myself and had my first meal. ¼ cup of Broth & a Popsicle. It was delicious I tell ya. Never thought a simple Popsicle could hit a TASTE BUDD the way it did. I am now at home and I am really doing well. I do have some pain killers here butt only need them at night when I go to sleep. The day of my Surgery I got weighed in at 275 pounds & I stepped on the Scale yesterday here at home and only weighed 265 pounds. So I will keep you all updated on my journey. Love Monika

Hey Monika, glad your are home and everything went well. I am a little jealous though that you got your 1/4 cup broth and a popsicle on the next day after surgery! I had to wait two days and only after a swallow study. After the yucky stuff I had to swallow, I had such a bad taste in my mouth I couldn't even eat my popsicle! I feel cheated...LOL Hope you have a speedy recovery, Sheila
