Vena Cava Filter@Suburban w/Dr George????
Hello, I am going to have my Vena Cava Filter put in next Thursday at Nortons Suburban with Dr Salem George Jr. Has anyone else ever had him do theirs at Suburban? My friend Shirlene said he did hers at Baptist East. I was just wondering if there was a reason for doing it at one hospital or the other. Shirlene said she was not put completely out so I assume I won't be either. Just curious, thanks!
Love and God Bless

hello, I recieved my Vena Cave filter @ Surban w/ Dr. George, it was very quick you are awake. It wasn't a painful insert but I've been have pain in my lower back when I do certain movement.
I had my done on 7 March and have my Surgery on 14 March. So don't worry if you had baby the insertion feels like contractions.

I had my Vena Cava Filter done by Dr. George at Suburban on Jan. 3rd. I had no problem. I was unconcious during the procedure. The worst for me was the IV (I hate them!). I am thankful to have the filter to be sure that I don't have to worry about pulmunary emboli anymore. The only reason I had my procedure done at Suburban was because it was a network provider with my insurance so more of it was covered.
It is a filter that protects u if u get a blood clot, there is a risk of those deep vein (in your legs) getting a blood clot with this surgery. The filter will stop any pieces that might break off if u get one, from going to your heart, lung, brain, etc, and killing u. My surgeon, Dr Shina lets all his patients have the oprotunity to get a filter. I have never had a blood clot but my BMI is high and it makes me feel safe...Good luck and keep in touch!
