Just Had Surgery at Georgetown...what a hospital should be.

Spring of 2004, my daughter and I went through most of the Bariatric program at a Lexington Hospital. We decided not to persue the open abdomen RNY they wanted to perform. I cannot tell you how glad I am that we waited. My daughter just had her LAPROSCOPIC RNY done 3-4-05, by Dr. Weiss and Dr. Oldham at Georgetown Bariatric Center. From the beginning of this program to date, I must say that Dr. Weiss's Program at Georgetown goes several steps BEYOND THE STANDARD to assure patient safety, provide the most thorough perioperative (pre-op, intra-op and post-op) care and the highest quality of care I have even seen at any facility in the 20 years I have been a registered nurse. Georgetown Bariatric Center is the model of what a hospital should be. Every staff member of this incredible team was a champion at his/her job. From the spotless environment to the uniforms and shoes, this team was flawless. I am very glad we chose Georgetown Bariatric Center. Mary L. I chose the New Life Surgery Center in Kettering OH for DS as the best WLS for me, but if I were going to do the RNY, I would have gone with Georgetown. I was really impressed by Georgetown's aftercare program. -joanne s
