Does anyone know????

This is a question for patients of Dr. Shina. Is there a certain order for the consults or does it vary for each individual insurance? I haven't had my surgical consult with Dr. Shina yet. I have to have my psych consult on March 9 and my nutritionist consult/PAC Class on March 17, before I get my surgical consult to submit my paperwork for approval. I thought you had your surgical consult and then he sent you for the consults he felt you need, besides those required. If anyone knows, please let me know??

Hi Teia Dr.Shina was my surgeon. I did not have any appts until after I seen Dr. Shina. It could be that they have made some changes in their patient processing. It could be because of the type of insurance you have. Who knows?? I know in my PAC class they had talked about making changes to the pre-op diet to help shrink the liver before surgery, after the first of the year. Are you seeing Dr. Hedden for your psych eval?? If so you will like him. He is very down to earth and has a great sense of humor. Best of luck with everything! Blessings Tonya
