OH..I almost forgot.....

My husband told my mother about my looking into weight loss surgery. So I don't have to worry about THAT anymore. She seemed more supportive about it that I thought she would. I had talked to her about a year ago about it and she was like, "I don't think it's a necessary thing to have." So when she said, "If it's going to help you lose that weight then go for it." My mother who has been losing weight slowly has gone from size 24 to a loose size 20 in about 2 years, and looks alot better than she did wasn't upset about this at all. Floored me actually. But I can relax about it now because I have my mom supporting me. Now the only 2 left in my family are two brothers. After that I'm all relaxed and ready to really do this. Mary

Well I'm not so much trying to get their support. Just don't want negative vibes around me. If someone around me is being negative, it affects me physically. Like last night. My youngest decided 3am was a good time to wake up and play for 3 hours while I'm trying to sleep. Didn't happen and now today I'll be miserable because I only got 3 hours sleep all night. I'm already feeling stress pains because everything is irritating me already this morning..Bleh.. Of course none of that is relative to anything topical..Heh.. Mary

Rhonda, Where are you from? Mt. Sterling is East of Lexington. OH, I already hear it from some of my coworkers about how I shouldn't do it because it's so dangerous and I have no will power..well yeah.. will power is lacking a bit because I have nothing that will remind me NOT to do what I've been doing to myself. So with this surgery I have more boundries..with the surgery I will be able to lose the weight I haven't been able to lose up til now. I do plan to join a gym..probably curves when taxes are in the bank. I NEED to do this to build up confidence in myself..and if I lose weight during the time I am working to get the surgery then that is better for me. I also hope that with exercise my skin will spring back so I don't have so much lose skin hanging when I do lose all I want to lose.

Hi Mary, I am from far western ky near paducah. sounds like you have a plan girl and you are going to do wonderful....don't let any discourage you from your dreams whether it is losing the weight without surgery or going ahead with the surgery. i tried every died known to man and could not lose or if i did i would gain back twice as much. i needed the restrictions that the rny gives. and i have never been happier. keep smiling rhonda

I've tried just about everything BUT scripted diet pills and I refuse those because I flat out can't afford to pay out of pocket for those. My insurance doesn't cover scripted pills. SOOOOOO...I tried everything OTC that was safe enough for me to take. I did slim fast, WW, grapefruit diet Fat flush..(what a joke that one is)..and eat less exercise more..I'd feel better doing that one, but never really lost more than a few pounds. SO this is it. This is where I am now. Mary

hI mary, i have tried it all prescription and otc i did good on the prescription til they took me off of it. i never heard of the fat flush but i tried all the others you named. if the surgery is what you chose i pray all goes well for you and that you get it approved an that you have a speedy recovery. please keep me updated on what you decide and when you get a date. i know for me the surgery was the best thing i ever did for me. keep smiling my new friend rhonda
