DR argotte/hernia,TT question

Hi all, I am waiting for insurance approval to have two hernia's repaired and hopefully a TT, I have a few questions 1 has anyone here had these done at the same time? 2 was Dr. Argotte your doctor? 3 did you have any problems getting approval for the TT with the hernia repair? 4 how long were you in the hospital? 5 how long was recovery? I have two large hernia's and my doctor wanted me to lose as much as possible before he would do the hernia repair. one is next to my belly button, i had this before the surgery, and one is just under my sternum along the incession line. thanks all Donna -101

I WENT TO THE DR. LAST WEEK AND HE REALLY HAS A NICE OFFICE NOW. YOU KNOW IF HE IS HOLDING THE SUPPORT MEETING THERE, HE HAS A NICE MEETING ROOM. I GOT TO LOSE 55 MORE POUNDS AND HE WILL DUE MINE, MY HERNIA IS THE SIZE OF GRAPEFRUIT BY MY BELLY BUTTON, IT DONT BOTHER ME YET. HE SENT ME OVER TO THE HOSPITAL FOR BLOOD WORK AND THEY ONLY TOOK 4 TUBES OF BLOOD AND I TOLD THEM THAT MAYFIELD TOOK 8 AND THEY SAID THEY DONT AND WHEN I GOT HOME THERE WAS A MESSAGE THAT THEY NEED MORE, 60 MILE ROUND TRIP BECAUSE THEY DIDNT LISON TO ME. Hi John, the support group meetings are just around the corner from his office in the new hospital building, we had a meeting on tuesday. I am also planning on going to the other meeting for people who are farther out, i think the next one is coming up and will be at the Paducah library. I have had trouble with giving blood vials in the past, they take the blood but dont handle it correctly, so I have to get it taken again, I had 6 vials taken last week and will find out how i am doing on feb 14. I am down 101 pounds and feeling pretty darn good. Donna

Hi Donna, Girl you are doing great. I saw Dr. Argotte on Monday, and we were discussing my hernia's. I am only 3 mnts. post-op, and had alot of hernia's before my surgery, but now have one that is very painful and about the size of a grapefruit. He told me that we may have to go ahead and repair it within the next couple of months. I have only lost 68 lbs. to date, and he'd like for me to have 100 lbs. gone before he does the surgery. He also told me that as long as it is documented that I get yeast and have problems with the hanging skin from my tummy, that the insurance will cover the TT done along with hernia repair surgery. As for how long you are in the hospital, well Dr. A. didn't do my past hernia repair surgerys, but I have had several, and was in the hospital anywhere from 24 hrs. up to 18 days. There you are never see you on the MO board LOL kathy told me she seen you at Dr.A's office..You look great .. I don't think he was to happy with her but I'm sure she didn't tell him all the junk she eat's .. But she will not lesson so I give up..well not give up but I have to step back and let her find out on her own that she will not lose weight like she should..she just makes me crazy...Oh well ... good luck to you and your doing great....Shelly

Hi Donna, Dr Argotte is my doc and i had my hernia rerpaired last feb then had to have it done again in Nov. when i had it repaired in nov i had a tt it took me about two weeks to get approved from my insurance the hernia repair will not be hard to get approved. i went home the day of the surgery the second time i had surgery it was done outpatient. the first time i was in the hospital for three days.
