Lets have some fun and get to know each other?
This can be fun and simple but at the same time help others learn from our experiences. Four simple question and all you need is honest answers.
1.) What made you do the surgery and how long did it take you to decide this is what you wanted for yourself.
2.) What has been the most exciting part of your journey so far?
3.) What can you do today, that can make today the best day so far since your surgery?
4.) Would you do it again?
5.) (And the fun part). What song of any songs you have ever heard Describes yourself and the way you feel right now. You can also say what song described you before the surgery.
Have fun with this you all deserve it, we are all making Ky a skinny state. Dont loose your heart and soul this is what make's you all so special.....ron
My answers:
1.) I was tired of my outside but loved my inside . I was 558 LBS @ 37 years old I wanted change and I needed change. After meeting my DR I knew I was ready so I thought about it and knew in a few weeks I was ready.
2.) Most exciting part is finding my true freinds meeting people in groups and seeing that I am not alone. I will say its the little thing like buying some clothes and fitting into seats better that just make me smile.
3.) I can reassure myself that I did this for me and that most of all I am happy. I feel awsome and yes I need to drink more water but I am trying.
4.) Song now= Live like you were Dying =Tim Mgraw
I am beautiful = Christina Aguillara
Hi Ron. Congrats on your incredible loss. You are doing wonderfully.
Don't mean to butt in on the KY board but I am a KY girl. Only lived in MS a short time!!
1.) What made you do the surgery and how long did it take you to decide this is what you wanted for yourself.
A: I had had a previous WLS that failed me so I decided to research revisions. It did not take me long to know that this was what I wanted.
2.) What has been the most exciting part of your journey so far?
A: Ran into old friends yesterday and one of the guys told me I was blonde, skinny, and FINE. Very exciting to hear those words about myself. Also, a great day was the day my towel actually wrapped around my body!!! (It's a girl thing)
3.) What can you do today, that can make today the best day so far since your surgery?
A:Well, I wish I could exercise then I could make it a good day. However, I was in a car accident and can't do that yet. I never thought I would be wishing I COULD exercise!
4.) Would you do it again?
A:Yes indeed. I wouldn't want to have to, but yes, I would definitely do it again.
5.) (And the fun part). What song of any songs you have ever heard Describes yourself and the way you feel right now. You can also say what song described you before the surgery.
A:How Do You Like Me Now by Toby Keith. That would describe the way I feel most.
Again, congrats on your loss and good luck with the rest!!

Ron, nice to meet you! Thanks for the fun thread.
1) I was just physically worn out from carrying 277 lb around. The last straw was when I went on vacation to NYC with my family and was not able to keep up with them. Just walking was exhausting. I was so sad to be left behind and so embarrassed to be seen in public! During the last couple of years as obese, I had sleep apnea, high blood pressure, etc. I had to do something and was tired of losing the same 40 lb over and over and over.
2) Exciting is out-walking my husband and being able to tease him about getting old! Also sleeping all night without snoring and having my blood pressure under control. Exciting is also the compliments and attention I'm getting from my husband lately. Love it!
3) I need to STEP AWAY FROM THE CHOCOLATE. lol
4) I'd do it again, once a year, if I had to.
5) Pre surgery, I was a "Don't Cry out Loud" kinda person. Now, "I Feel Pretty" and "Walking on Sunshine".
I love my DS!
