Humana Insurance

Just a quick question. I have Humana HMO- KPPA insurance through the federal gov. and was curious if anyone else has used this insurance. They state that is is covered under their policy, there are no exclusions that I've read in my policy and it states that the MD t St. Joes does accept this insurance. I'm just curious to how they are and if it would likey be approved. Thanks for your response!

Hi Leslie! I had Humana PPO through the state when I had my surgery. Humana was wonderful! I was approved the first time. But it depends on your health, diet history, blood pressure, etc. I think it helped me a great deal that Dr. Shina has been doing this for so long the insurance girls in his office know extactly what Humana is looking for. If your Dr has been performing this type of surgery very long then he and his staff know what Humana needs. It may take you more than one try to be approved that is not uncommon. Just do not give up!! From the time Humana got my paper work (3 weeks after my Dr appt). I think it took the underwriters/nurse/medical review 1 week to make a decision.
