How long did your *sorness* last??
Maybe a weird question. I had lap gastric bypass 12-28-04.
I feel stronger each day, I have not had any problems with foods.
I'm still VERY tender and sore on my left side where most of the surgery was performed. I knew I would be down for a while after surgery. But I did not expect to still be so sore. I always bounce right back from everything. But the WLS wins this battle!! It has kicked my butt!!
I'm wondering how long other people had tenderness and soreness??
I'm sure it is normal. I just want to get back into the swing of things again. Thanks for letting me vent!!!
Blessings
Tonya
Tonya my surgery was on the 17th of Dec. and it was open. My incision is healed but I'm still very tender. Especially in the area of my stomach. The other day I got in the car and hit up against the steering wheel and it took my breath for a minute but its ok now. It just takes time I guess, what you have to remember is your recovering from major surgery, its no walk in the park. Good luck God bless you.

Tonya, sorry your having so much pain. I had open RNY and I was sore for a month then drove to FL. I was still tender for a while after that. But, if you contiune having pain only in your left side you may need to contact your surgeon if you haven't already. Sometimes problems do occur. Remember to keep moving even though you are sore. It will help to work some of the soreness out. Just don't over do. Diane
