I am almost 4 weeks out now and I can't hardly stomach water. How much do I need to get in each day? I've been drinking some juices but I can't drink crystal light anymore it makes my stomach hurt. Anything artificially sweetened makes it hurt.

Sorry to hear that your having problems. Dr. Shina recommends 64oz. of water a day. I'm only 2 weeks post-op and I'm working on it!!! I can drink unsweet decaf tea. I do not like any of the crystal light drinks I have tried. Maybe others will have better suggestions. Blessings Tonya

have you tried gaitor aid or the flavored propel waters. They helped me get in my water. I am 2 1/2 months out. Marsha

Gator aid has so much salt in it. I have to watch my salt intake. But thanks for the suggestion.

You need to get in 64 oz of fluid. Only 32 oz. has to be water. Propel is a good drink. I'm 2.5 years out and Crystal Light sometimes bothers me too. You can count your sugar free popsicles and jello has fluid but I can not remember how much. Herbal teas are good too. I light green tean with peach. I have to have a hot drink every morning before I can eat. It helps to relax the stomach muscles. Diane

Hi Kim. I think it is hard to get all my fluids in also. My doctor told me a total of 64 oz. They wanted 32 oz. to be water. I like the Propel with lemon, but it tastes a little sweet to me. Have you tried all the Crystal Lights, yet? If not, try the Crystal Light Sunrise. Also, any broth you drink is included in the liquids, and popsicles, and sugar free jello. I hear you are doing great through Kelley. Keep it up girl!!

Thanks Anna, I'd be doing a lot better if the weather would get better. I need to get out and walk. How are you doing? When did you have surgery? How much have you lost? I've lost 34 pounds since the 17th of December. I hope thats ok. Thanks Anna Its good to have somebody else to compare things with.

Kim, I had my surgery on the 21st of December. I am down 27 pounds. I actually squeezed into a size 20 yesterday. Getting there..... I go walking at the ROC. The indoor track across of Mr. Kwik. You should try it. You sound like you're doing great. I go for my check up on the 19th. It is hard to believe it will be a month soon.

Kim, Congratulations, you seem to be doing very well! It took me 3 months to be able to stomach plain water...It would make me sick. I was able to drink the Lipton - Sugar Free - Decaf Tea - with Lemon - mixed with water of course, but the only Crystal light I could drink was the premade in the bottle Lemonaid. I have so many containers of crystal light at home and sugar free koolaid (still can't drink that either) that I could serve a party of hundred and not run out. I'm 8 months out now, and believe me after the 3rd month, it got much easier for me to drink water, but I still have a hard time getting it all in, I pretty much am sipping water all day long! good luck! The sugar free Kool-aid isn't bad but crystal light makes my stomach hurt bad. I loved it b4 surgery. And I guzzlede water, now I can barely stand it. In the hospital it was soooo good. But it tastes different here. If I use bagged ice its better. How are you doing? I haven't heard from you since b4 surgery.
