Hoping to have surgery and I have a question...

First I want to say I LOVE THIS SITE!!! There is sooo much information it's sort of overwhelming. Here is my question: requirements... Has anyone ever been approved for WLS and not had "Doctor supervised" weight loss to document? Also when they require a list of past diets what exactly are they looking for. I never really documemdted any of the diets I have tried in the past. I have also never been in any "Doctor supervised" diets either. The doctor I have now is the first doctor who has taken a productive interest in my weight before and I don't have more than a 2 week history with her. All my past doctors have been no more help than to say GO HOME AND MOVE MORE AND EAT LESS!!! Thanks for you help!!! Hugs Judi

my ins. UHC did not require a diet history but my surgeon did. In my packet was included a two page diet sheet. it had every diet you could think of and more included and all I had to go was go down the list and check the ones I had tried. I had the old timey JIB surgery years ago and complications from that and that also helped me to get approved. Welcome to the site. I was denied last week for insufficient diet history. I have been on everything but didn't have anything Dr. supervised except my PCP keeping track of my weight. Then I was told by my insurance (Bluegrass Family Health) and my Dr. (St. Joe East-Lex) that I only needed 6 months of any documented or supervised program. I was planning to have surgery during Christmas until denied. Now I'm Weigh****chers bound for the next 6 months, and pray the rest of my documentation will be good for that long. I can't pay for the test again. The copays and deductibles have eaten my Christmas
