Jon, You have to have faith in your doctor. If you backed out because you were nervous then that is a whole other story but if you backed out because you were skeptical of the surgeon or his skills then that is your right. You should never do anything or have anything done to you unless you have faith in the person doing it. This may have been a higher source letting you know that you need to find a different surgeon. Every decision made by us has it's consequences and there is never any guarantee that we are making the right decision. However, you must follow your instincts and do what you feel is right. If you still want the surgery, try doing some additional research and find a different doctor. I wish you luck in your endeavors and hope that you will find peace in each decision you make! jon, if it was because of the doc, make sure you have checked him out and if you feel comfortable, it would probably be a simple matter to call them and get it rescheduled after all you have been thru. They probably understand and also I wanted to let you know that it is normal to have doubts and fears right before surgery. Completely normal. I hope you are able to gwet your surgery or even another doc right away so you don't have to go thru all the approval stuff again.

Hi Jon, Dr. Argotte is my surgeon, and he is a wonderful man as well as an excellent surgeon. He has never lost a WLS patient yet. I was a very high risk patient, and he took every precaution to keep me safe. My surgery was 7 hours long due to scar tissue and mesh. He brought me through safely, and I would trust him 100 times over. He is the very best in my honest opinon. If you talk to him about your fears, he will help you through. I can't praise him enough, and haven't met anyone who doesn't love him. I had no problems, and no longer have to take insulin or any other medications. You are safe in his capable hands. If you would like to talk, email me. I'd be glad to help you in any way. Take care... Jenni 300/268/145 -32 lbs.

Jon, I've chatted with a lady who backed out at the last minute, tried dieting, then 2 years later was finally ready for surgery. She has been very successful with her WLS. Good luck to you and if I can help, email me. -joanne s
