BCBS of Illinois DENIED

Hello all I am so mad I could spit. I just got my letter of denial from BCBS of Illinois because they said I need 12 months of medically supervised weight loss management. I called them and they said it has to be consecutive months. I have about 6 months total in the past but not consecutive months. I don't know if this is something I can appeal or not. If anyone has any suggestions , information, or helpful ideas I would greatly appreciate it. I am afraid I am just screwed on this but I thought asking couldn't hurt.
