OT: Abnormal PMS Bleeding..

Hi, since I hit the 300 and above mark, my period has been irregular. I went for 6-9 months with out having one, not complaining though. Then in August I had 3. Then the first day of Sept I started bleeding again and haven't stopped since. I have an appt Friday with my gyn. I am just worried about this and thought there might be someone out there who has had a similar problem or anyone with opinions...Thanks and God Bless Angela Russell

Hi Angela, I'm pre-op also and mine has been irregular for over a year now and I'm on the pill. My surgeon's office did say that after surgery, it should return to normal. Hope this helps! Good Luck. --Amanda

Angela, Sounds like you are doing the right thing, going to the dr. to get it checked out. Your cycle just may be wacky due to your weight. They may put you on the pill for a month to try and regulate it. Anyway, let us know how it all goes, and I'll say a quick prayer for you. Pat

Hello! I work in an OB/GYN office, and felt like putting in my two cents.. Sounds to me like it may be Polycystic ovarian syndrom (PCOS). It's pretty common in overweight women. There are some labs your ob/gyn can order, and sometimes it's visible on a vaginal ultrasound of your ovaries. Keep us updated though!

Hi April, I have to go in Wed for a Hysteroscopy D&C. It is done out patient. My gyn thinks its my weight messing with my period but she wants to go in there and check it out and do the D&C to clean me out and make me "smooth" all over...She said that should help alot.
