I have a date

I finally have my date...November 17th. I have to be at the hospital at 5:30 a.m. at Norton's in Louisville. I am driving from Lawrenceburg. I will probably leave at 4:00 a.m. (with no coffee!). Any advice, words of warning, or helpful hints. Kris

Hello Kristin Well I just got home today I had my surgery tuesday and I had to drive about 1:45 min to get to my hospital It was the longest trip I will ever take My mind went everywhere And I can tell You this I didn't spend it thinking about Mountain Dew which was my addiction before WLS. I made it through with Thanks To God. I am soar and I couldn't even dream of eating anything right now so That much is ok. I did have it laproscopic it basically feels like I got slammed in the stomach with a ball bat rather that having had a surgery. I only gained 4 lbs from fluid in the hospital so that was a plus and If there is one thing I will recommend to take it is the chapstick everyone speeks of I would have went nuts without it. I was sooooo dried out after surgery it wasn't funny so Please do Yourself a favor and invest in some blistex or something. Other than that happy thoughts and Walk as much as You can in the hospital and take Your pain meds it will help You to take deeper breathes and walk better. Best Wishes Shell
