Dr. Nighbert did my surgery on 8-10-04. I read in newspaper that both the drs. had lawsuits against them for malpractice. I hate that. Does anyone know what it's about??? Linda

Well I can tell you this I looked it up in the kentucky medical licensing board and it said there has been No lawsuits on them and no complaints in the last ten years unless this has happened in the last couple weeks.

I faithfully read the Lexington Herald, every word, nearly every day and I would be interested to know what day you saw that or what paper. I have been VERY satisfied with Dr. Steiner. He is just the best . As long as we have researched them and are doing well ourselves, it doesn't matter a lot to me. I am a nurse and I know it is impossible to please all your patients. I have even been threatened with lawsuits myself which is why I carry 2 million dollars malpractice insurance. They have had one patient die but not recently and it was from heart problems( I think). Also, I was just in the office today and everything seemed fine. Lots of happy patients and staff.

Hi I am tickled that You are doing so well, I am hoping to have my surgery in October......That being said When we where at the seminar the other day they said they have had two patients die, Out of 600+ patience. I don't know when and why and all But I am confident with my desicion. I am curious also as to where this article was found due to what I stated earlier the medical review boards say they have had NO complaints on them. Best wishes Shell

Shell, you are in good hands and remain confident with your decision. They have been very honest and forthcoming about the deaths. They have taken care of me. I had never had to have any of them except dr. Steiner until the other day when I had to be admitted to the hospital . I was a little leary of having to be admitted to Nighbert but Steiner was out of town and I was taken good care of.

Hope all is well from hosp. visit. I am more nervous about which one to pick than anything not because I am scared of gettin a Bad Surgeon but because they ALL seem so nice I met them all at the seminar and I would pick all 3 if I could lol. I have heard great things about steiner and neighbert but Greenlee seemed so nice and capable Too. Soo that is where I am now. I am thinking about just telling them Hey YOU pick for me. lol. I am still waiting to hear about the newspaper have you heard yet?

Shell, please don't get me wrong, I'm very satisfied with my choice of Dr. Nighbert and i think Dr. Steiner helped with my surgery. As I said it was really my friend that she said she saw that in the paper, about 2 weeks for Nighbert and maybe 3 for Steiner. I was just wondering what that was all about! I'm very happy with Dr. nighbert and his whole staff. They treat u as friends instead of patients. I wouldn't have changed any thing. Good luck in your upcoming surgery. I'm sure u will do fine. keep us inform. Linda

I know You were just passing along info and had questions yourself I had checked all that out before i chose them as surgeons I know there have been 2 deaths maybe it is there families I dunno but I was wondering if You could ask your friend where she seen it so I can researsh that. I have faith in them so it will be more out of curiousity, Than anything. I am glad you are doing well, can't wait till I am there.

I LOVE Dr. Steiner BUT IF HE HAD NOT BEEN IN THE PROGRAM WHEN i HAD SURGERY, i WOULD HAVE PICKED gREENLEe. i AM A NURSE AS i'VE TOLD YOU BEFORE AND HAVE TAKEN CARE OF HIS PATIENTS as well as Dr. nighberts, for many years. Sorry for the caps, I hit the wrong button. Dr. greelee has been a well respected surgeon in this area as many years as dr. Nighbert has. About thirty, I think.
