Ok, I found out today that when I go for my seminar and consultation on Oct 5, I have to pay the nutritionist something and she/he isn't covered by our insurance, Great West. I have heard that some people have to pay $75 for the nutritionist, is this a set fee or have some of u paid more or less for it? They are supposed to be sending me a packet in the mail, but I am curious now as to what I will have to pay for the nutritionist. I did find out that the psych eval is covered by my insurance, thank goodness! Well, if anyone knows anything email me at [email protected]... Thanks Angela Russell Etown, Ky.

Have you been for your initial consultation with Dr. Shina yet? Everything was included in the $400.00 consultation fee I thought. A nutritionist did speak with us on that day and there was no extra charge.

Theresa, they told me that they don't charge a consultation fee anymore. The lady I spoke with said I just have to bring in my regular co pay like I do any doctor. I know they used to charge $250 for adminstrative fees and $100 for something else, but I have been told that they changed this recently. I was just wondering about the nutritionist fees, I think its $75, but I guess I will know for sure when I get my packet. Thanks for the reply...

Sherry, I don't know when they stopped charging these fees, I also was told back in the spring when I called them that I would have to pay those, but before my first appt they called to tell me I didn't have enough wrong with me at that time. Now, I am on medication for high blood pressure, I have sleep apnea, and I found out today more than likely diabetes. I have alot of trouble with my back, knees, and joint pain. So when I called to make another appt I asked them if they still charged these and was told that they were not "at this time" charging those fees. I have no idea when they stopped. I know I am grateful that they stopped, but I don't know anything about the whys and the whens of it.

I also had to pay the nutritionist fee, but I never spoke with her besides the first seminar. I called several times to set up a appointment with her, but no one ever called me back. I had my surgery in June, so I felt that it was just a waste of money.

Hi, Micah, I will be very disappointed if I pay $75 or what ever and only see the woman one time. That is riddiculous. I guess I will find out more when I get my packet. Thanks.

I paid the 400.00 up front too. I thought it was a little steep for just submittting insurance and making apppointments for pul. and cardio. docs which I paid a co-opay for. When I go in Sept 23 Ill ask. But with my luck They will have some big excuse as to not refund or credit the money

Hi Deborah, I don't know when they stopped charging these fees, I assume it was recently. I hope u find out something when u go in Sept 23. I won't know exactly what I have to pay that first day until I get my packet. I know I have to pay a $15 copay for the doctor cause that is my regular co pay. But for the nutritionist, I don't know. I have heard that its $75, I hope its not more than that. I think that is steep especially if I am going to see her just the one time. Thanks for your reply and email me or IM me anytime. My email is [email protected]

I call for a consult and had one for August 31, 2004. I then called back to cancel my opp because I was having a hard time coming up with $400.00 up front so when I called to cancel they told me there was no longer a fee and they moved my consult to Sept 7, 2004. I assumed there was no fee but when I got there they told me there was a fee of $75.00 I needed to pay before they would send my case to the Insurance Co. They said there would also be another $75.00 later on down the road. I never seen the nutritionist she called me on the phone so I guess I am paying $75.00 for a 5 minute phone call. CRAZY. I wish they would make up their minds on the cost. I am a little worried what other charges they will have later. Good Luck Sherri
